Boum was a breakthrough collection for the design team of Monica Graffeo and Ruggero Magrini, winning the coveted Young & Design Award in 2003. Utilizing technologies from the automotive industry, they successfully developed a seating unit that incorporates a plastic shell with foamed upholstery that is vacuum formed to accentuate the curves of the design. This solution provides a highly durable composition with a firm seat, ideal for high traffic, public space planning.
